As we walk down this path together, I invite you to take a trip down Alekhya’s and Sathwik’s memory lane…
Their story began not with a whisper, but with the clash of a college election. Alekhya stood as the spirited opposition to Sathwik’s close friend, Kalyan—a rivalry that should have kept them apart. Yet, fate had a playful twist. While trying to learn more about the girl who had captured his curiosity, Sathwik accidentally sent her a Facebook request—a small slip that sparked a connection so deep, it felt as if their souls had known each other forever.
That spark grew into a flame during a long journey on the Swarnjayathi Express from Vijayawada to Bhopal. By the time they met for their first date at Hakeem in New Market, their bond needed no grand proposal—just a simple confirmation from Sathwik and a joyful “yes” from Alekhya. And so began their eleven-year journey.
At MANIT Bhopal, their love blossomed amidst greenery and shared routines—morning walks, Shekar poha, long breakfasts at ICH, and quiet moments by the Upper Lake. From waiting outside the H7 hostel gate to spontaneous bike rides and late-night movies, they built a world of memories that only grew stronger with time.
Then came life’s greatest test—distance. Alekhya’s path led her to Bangalore and eventually to the United States, while Sathwik pursued his career in Hyderabad and his MBA at IIT Kharagpur. Across continents and time zones, their hearts stayed connected. Determined to close the distance, Sathwik made the bold decision to move to the US, studying at Purdue and later joining Amazon in Bellevue, while Alekhya flourished at eBay in San Jose.
Through every challenge—the weight of long-distance, the uncertainty of careers, and the emotional highs and lows—they remained each other’s greatest strength. Their journey was supported by families who chose love over convention, offering unwavering trust and encouragement.
Eleven years later, their love stands stronger than ever. From oceans apart to just a short flight away, the distance continues to fade. Their story is a testament that when two souls are meant to be, no distance is too great, no obstacle too high.
What better way to celebrate this occasion with the people they love the most, you.
